Riverfront Times

A 60,000 square foot hotdog joint.

Best Of St. Louis 2008 · By By Josh Bacott · Riverfront Times

In my mind, I'd just walked into a 60,000 square foot hotdog joint.

Josh Bacott's Riverfront Times piece is probably the most flattering thing anyone has written about a hot dog cart. It frames us as a perfect solution to a real problem: you want a great chili dog, but you also have errands at Home Depot. Why pick?

Bacott walked into our Brentwood cart, ordered a chili cheese dog with a bag of Red Hot Riplets for about five bucks, and declared the Home Depot store a makeshift hot dog palace.

His review mentions the full cart menu — bratwursts, smoked sausage, kielbasa (which he called "cleverly titled 'Huge'"), and non-tubed-meat items like nachos, tamales, and the cryptic Pepper Belly. He credits the cart's enormous condiment selection for earning us Best Condiments in St. Louis, 2008.

He closed with a line about an unusual hot sauce on offer — Ass Reaper — and a note that his column was about journeying through one of the unhealthiest cities in America every other Friday. We're honored to have been a stop.
